The Government has announced a new package of temporary tariff suspensions designed to help ease cost pressures on households and businesses. Effective from 26 November 2026, import duties on a range of fresh produce and related products will be reduced to 0%, with most suspensions remaining in place until 31 December 2028. For the fresh produce sector, the changes cover products including garlic, gherkins, aubergines, sweet peppers, olives, plantains, figs, avocados, certain citrus fruits and a range of tropical fruits and dried fruit products. The package also includes a number of fertiliser products, which may help reduce input costs for growers. Members importing affected products should review the relevant commodity codes and assess any potential opportunities arising from the tariff reductions. These suspensions do not apply to goods originating from Russia or Belarus.
