Simplified access to the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) through your Business Tax Account (BTA)

HMRC are introducing a change to add a new CDS section to the BTA homepage. The new section will enable you to directly access CDS digital services whilst logged
into your BTA, removing the need to log into CDS separately.
The services you will be able to access are:
• Manage import duties and VAT accounts.
• Claim back import duty and VAT.
• Make an export declaration online.
The change will also provide a self-service capability within the BTA, that will allow customers to remove CDS as a service from their account and add to the correct
account if they have the access.
This update streamlines access for BTA customers who also use the CDS, providing a single convenient location for all your business customs requirements.
When will this change happen?
These changes will be added to the BTA home page on 31 March 2025.
