Ofwat Water Innovation Fund – Funding Opportunities and Upcoming Webinar
We would like to draw members’ attention to Ofwat’s Water Innovation Fund and an upcoming webinar introducing the new Agri-Water Cross-Sector Challenge, which may be of particular interest to businesses across the fresh produce sector.
Water Innovation Fund
Ofwat’s Water Innovation Fund is a £600 million, 10-year initiative designed to accelerate innovation across the water sector, delivering improved outcomes for customers, communities and the environment.
Delivered in partnership with Challenge Works, with support from Arup and Isle Utilities, the Fund has already invested over £190 million in 109 projects involving almost 300 partners.
The programme supports innovative solutions addressing key water-related challenges, including water efficiency, leakage prevention, water quality, environmental sustainability and achieving net zero emissions.
For the fresh produce sector, where water availability, quality and resilience are increasingly important, the Fund offers opportunities to explore cross-sector collaboration and innovative approaches to sustainable water management.
Upcoming Webinar: Water Innovation Cross-Sector Programme and Agri-Water Cross-Sector Challenge

Following the launch of the Agri-Water Cross-Sector Challenge on 10 November 2026, this interactive webinar will provide an overview of the wider Water Innovation Cross-Sector Programme and an in-depth introduction to the new challenge.
The session will explore the programme's objectives, selection criteria and opportunities for collaboration between the water and agricultural sectors, with a focus on how cross-sector partnerships can support long-term water resilience.
We encourage members interested in water efficiency, sustainable production, innovation and collaborative projects to attend and explore the opportunities available.
