The Customs Intermediary Standard launched on 3rd June 2026. The Standard articulates best practice for intermediaries in the sector, what is expected of them to deliver a quality service to traders and also what traders should expect from intermediaries they do business with.

Previous webinars on this subject have covered what the Standard is, the criteria within, and how it differs from Authorised Economic Operator status. This session will be more of an opportunity for attendees to ask questions about the Standard now that the Publicly Available Specification (PAS) has been launched.

Format

  • Member of HMRC to set the scene and introduce speakers- 2-3 minutes
  • 4 industry representatives to speak about their role in customs, their involvement in the development of the Standard and why, from their perspective, it is important to the intermediary sector and wider customs system- 4 minutes each
  • Open Q&A both on the call and in the chat- chat questions will be picked up and answered after the webinar
  • Wrap up by HMRC (where to go for further information, assurance questions in the chat will be picked up and answered in due course)- 2 minutes
