Chilled Food Association launch Environmental Monitoring for Listeria Guidance

This guidance is part of the Technical Lobbying Document (CFA/056/23) produced in preparation for awaited EU proposals on amended Lm micro criteria in Reg 2073/2005.

The text has been endorsed by the Industry Listeria Group, which comprises CFA members, UK major multiples, UK and European trade associations (FPC included).

It sets out:

• effective environmental hygiene management using monitoring and
• preventative and corrective actions and
• how to interpret this data and relate it to other results from raw materials, components and product.

It gives much-needed detail to support on GHP particularly for SMEs and for enforcement not only by Competent Authorities but also commercially, e.g. by FBOs buying RTE ingredients from suppliers and for final product retail customers.
