Updated DEFRA International Environmental Protection Reports

This is the second edition of the UK Government’s International Environmental Protection Report. It covers significant policy and legislative developments internationally in environmental protection and climate mitigation and adaptation during the reporting period (April 2024 to March 2026).

This report fulfils the obligations of the Secretary of State for Environment Food and Rural Affairs under Section 21 of the Environment Act 2021, and outlines best practice from other countries with similar levels of ambition and commitment to the UK, in terms of reaching net zero, tackling climate change and improving the natural environment.
