IPAFFS will soon have the functionality to support your import notification process with an ePhyto. In the coming weeks you will be able to process your CHED PP with an ePhyto from Spain via the functionality in IPAFFS.
Further information on ePhyto training and implementation dates will be communicated to you shortly for a walk through of the new process. Please book onto a session once they become available.
What are the benefits of electronically exchanging a Phytosanitary Certificate?
• Electronically exchanging a Phytosanitary Certificate (ePhyto) is safer, reducing the possibility of fraud and eliminating the risk of damage associated with paper Phytosanitary Certificates (PCs).
• ePhyto is faster, as importers will receive their CHED-PP quicker, allowing for goods to be moved sooner.
• ePhyto is more sustainable, resulting in less produce waste, and the removal of paper PCs.
The first step to developing the ePhyto process means that you can attach a phytosanitary certificate to create and support your new import notification. Depending on the type of commodity and country you're importing from you will need to provide both the:
• country of origin of the certificate
• certificate reference number
• date of issue
• Consignee/Consignor name
What’s next for Exchanging a Phytosanitary Certificate?
This process will be rolled out to other regions in the coming weeks and months with more information to follow.
