If you are importing cut conifer trees less than 3m in height or foliage from the EU, Switzerland or Liechtenstein to GB, you will need to obtain a Phytosanitary Certificate (PC) for your goods before they enter GB. This is alongside the need to pre-notify your goods on IPAFFS. These goods imported into GB from Ireland will also now require pre-notification and a PC before entry into GB as the initial easements put in place came to an end in January this year. The controls for Ireland aligns with the controls for the rest of the EU.
Please notify the Forestry Commission separately if consignments contain cut conifer trees which are greater than 3m in height and this includes the trees gifted by Norway for public display each year (see FC notification). These will also require a PC.
The checks on Christmas tree material will be carried out at Border Control Posts (BCPs) or Control Points (CPs).
