Importing HRFNAO via the EU to GB: the new CHED Part 1 notification DATE CHANGE

Importing HRFNAO via the EU to GB: the new CHED Part 1 notification DATE CHANGE

24 Nov 2023

Regarding scheduled changes to import notifications for importing High Risk Food and Feed of Non-Animal Origin via the EU and EFTA states into GB

We have previously communicated that from 30 November 2023, the IMP import notification you create and submit on the import of products, animals, food and feed system (IPAFFS), will be changing to a Common Health Entry Document (CHED) Part 1 import notification for those importing High Risk Food and Feed of Non-Animal Origin (HRFNAO) via EU and EFTA countries.

The CHED Part 1 import notification will now be implemented at a later date for imports of High Risk Food and Feed of Non-Animal Origin (HRFNAO) via EU and EFTA countries on IPAFFS. We recognised that by delivering this change at a later date, we can provide a better user experience, and better align this change with other changes that support the implementation of the UK Government’s border Target Operating Model (TOM).

Please continue to create and submit an IMP import notification on IPAFFS as normal – there will be no impact on this process. We will keep you informed as to when the new CHED Part 1 notification process will be available.

IPAFFS already prompts those importing HRFNAO directly from non-EU/EFTA countries to submit the Common Health Entry Document (CHED) Part 1 import notification, and this process is not affected. Please continue to create and submit import notifications on IPAFFS.

Useful information:
If you import HRFNAO via EU/EEA/EFTA countries, you must make sure that you are making import notifications on IPAFFS. If you are not already using IPAFFS, register at Import of products, animals, food and feed system (IPAFFS) - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
