It is four years since the food crime units within the Food Standards Agency and Food Standards Scotland published the 2020 Food Crime Strategic Assessment, outlining
the threat from food crime to the UK.
The UK remains an authentic food environment. However, over the last four years the UK food supply has seen significant disruption with new opportunities for criminal
diversification. This assessment articulates key food crime threats and where new opportunities have emerged within food systems as a result of contemporary external
factors.
