DEFRA learns lessons from Committee as UK transitions away from Border Trade Operating Model

DEFRA has responded to the EFRA Committee Report on UK-EU Trade: Towards a resilient border strategy and accepts many of the conclusions and recommendations relating to the UK’s trade on food and plant products.

Sevington BCP drew particular focus in relation to operability and driver welfare but DEFRA stated that until SPS Agreement negotiations are complete, there is uncertainty on what the border will look like in the future.
