As you may know, last summer Defra’s Secretary of State announced a review of the Environmental Improvement Plan (EIP23). We are developing a new, statutory plan to protect and restore our natural environment with delivery information to help meet each of our ambitious Environment Act targets.
We are writing to let you know about an opportunity to participate in an engagement exercise as part of this process to revise the EIP, in which we are looking to engage a broad range of stakeholders, including businesses, local authorities, land managers and civil society across the country.
Defra is working with Policy Lab to deliver a Collective Intelligence project to ensure a diverse set of stakeholder voices are able to feed in. This will use Pol.is open-source software to run an online, week-long debate in early March exploring stakeholder views on the EIP. We hope this debate will provide greater depth and richness to our understanding of stakeholder views on the EIP. We don’t expect you will need to commit more than a couple of hours to the debate over the course of the week.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out the following Expression of Interest by midday, Thursday 27 February. Given limits on the numbers able to take part and our intention to ensure as wide a range of participants as possible, we cannot guarantee that by completing this form you will be able to take part; Defra will be in contact with you in early March with further information and next steps if you are selected to participate. Your personal details will be stored and used in accordance with data protection rules: Defra's research privacy notice - GOV.UK
