High Risk Foods Not of Animal Origin

HRFNAO are goods which have specific import conditions on entry into Great Britain. See a list of goods with restrictions.

Members are reminded on the requirements for HRFNAO (High Risk Food Not of Animal Origin). GB will diverge from the EU on the types of food subject to increased controls following exit from the EU but it is hoped that the differences will be minimal.

Members should be aware that EU and UK HRFNAO can vary and that the EU have recently voted in favour of the draft proposal regarding the temporary increase of official controls at BCP's. Details of this amendment coming into force will be announced in due course. The draft proposal can be found here: Comitology Register (europa.eu)
