Updated organic control bodies and third countries for importing INTO the EU.

19 Jul 2022

The EU imports organic products only from a list of authorized control authorities/control bodies and third countries.

Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/2325 sets out the list of third countries and the list of control authorities and control bodies that have been recognised under Article 33(2) and (3) of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 for the purpose of importing organic products into the Union.

In the light of new information and requests received by the Commission since the adoption of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/2325, certain changes should be made to those lists. The update of the annexes is necessary in order to have accurate information concerning the control bodies and third countries recognised for imports of organic products to the EU; Consumer information, labelling; Prevention of deceptive practices and consumer protection; Quality requirements
