From 31 January 2024, a new regime of border controls for imports of Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) goods to Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) will be in place. Depending on the type of goods these controls may involve new processes, paperwork, routes for goods and border checks.

Defra have developed and would like to know more about what action organisations who import and export SPS goods to GB are taking to get ready for the new controls. Your responses will help determine if we need to do more to ensure you are informed and on track to be ready by 31 January 2024.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and participation is voluntary. All answers are anonymous. The results will be collated by Defra and maybe shared with other UK Government departments.

Upon completion of the survey, you will be directed to the latest guidance on changes to import controls for SPS goods. If you have any questions about the survey, or have any difficulties completing it, you can contact spstraders@defra.gov.uk. By completing this survey, you have consented to take part.
