New support for farm advisers

New support for farm advisers

30 Apr 2021

WRAP has released a new resource pack for farm advisers, including field teams and technical staff in supply chain businesses who work with farmers, as well as independent advisers. It supports advisers to deliver projects with groups of farmers to measure food surplus and waste together. Working in groups helps farmers to identify differences in levels of waste and collaborate on opportunities to improve. The resource pack explains how to deliver a project, starting with how to engage and recruit farmers, through to analysing data and identifying opportunities to improve, and all the key steps in between.

The resource pack has been developed through two years of farmer-led data gathering pilots with Innovative Farmers across a broad range of sectors. The approach is most relevant to fresh produce and has been found useful in the egg sector, and is less relevant to the cereals, red meat and dairy sectors.
