The European Commission has released its Implementing Regulation regarding arrangements for imports of organic products from third countries. The rule requires the Certificate of Origin (COI) for organic goods to be issued prior to the vessel’s departure. Any COI issued after the date of the Bill of Lading (B/L) will mean that the consignment will be degraded to being conventional goods and treated as such at customs.
