Efficacy of Recalls and Withdrawals – guidance

9 January 2019

As part of the Food Standards Agency/Food Standards Scotland Efficacy of Recalls and Withdrawals project, a four-week consultation has been launched on Guidance on Food Traceability, Withdrawals and Recalls within the UK Food Industry.

The guidance assists food businesses in complying with food law and provides advice and supporting tools to food businesses and food enforcement authorities across the UK in dealing with food safety withdrawals and recalls.

The full consultation package is live on:

FSA’s website at: https://www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/consultations/guidance-on-food-traceability-withdrawals-and-recalls-within-the-uk-food-industry

FSS’s website at: https://consult.foodstandards.gov.scot/food-crime-and-incidents-unit/guidance-on-food-safety-traceability-product-withd/

The guidance, includes input from trade associations, including FPC which contributed to one of the workstreams involved in developing this guidance and the project overall.

The FSA is keen to receive feedback, so you can either relay comments to sian@freshproduce.org.uk or reply direct by email to Debbie.sharpe@food.gov.uk by close of play 4 February 2019.
