Scheduled downtime affecting import clearances

22 February 2018

We have received the following advice from APHA of downtime affecting import clearances today:

We have been advised that due to an urgent network issue it will be necessary to reboot the servers that underpin various Defra applications later today. The maintenance window is from 1900hrs this evening until 0700hrs tomorrow morning. ALVS will be unavailable from 1900hrs this evening until at least midnight.

In addition, the link between PEACH and eDOMERO (the APHA database) is likely to be impacted so we expect any PEACH applications to APHA will remain on Grey ball for the duration of the downtime. All APHA inspection/release decisions will be queued, and applied once the systems are back online.

Manual fallback will be invoked and NCH will be authorised to clear APHA- and HMI-regulated imports on production of QRCs/Certificates of Conformity. We expect to be able to revert to electronic clearances after 0700hrs tomorrow morning once checks by APHA/HMI indicate that all systems are back online.

We apologise for the short notice of this downtime. And as usual we advise that PEACH applications are made either side of it wherever possible.
