Correcting WTO notification – False Codling Moth

21 November 2017

The European Commission has notified the World Trade Organisation of a corrected version of WTO notification G/SPS/N/EU/196/Add1 on new amendments for Annexes I to V to Council Directive 2000/29/EC on plant health.

The first version, published in August 2017 did not include ‘prunus persica’ into the provisions for the false codling moth.

The new provisions will come into force on 1 January 2018. All importing countries importing citrus, capsicum, pomegranate or peaches and nectarines, will have to notify to the European Commission by then their status with regard to the pest and disease mentioned in the notification.
