Reminder to pre-notify Egyptian grape consignments

24 May 2017

We have been advised by the Port of Felixstowe that to date no CEDs have been submitted to Port Health for the first consignments of Egyptian grapes which are due to arrive next week on the Seago Bremerhaven.

Imports of Egyptian grapes are required to be pre-notified into the EU by a CED and subject to increased import controls for 20 per cent of consignments. In order to minimise delays and additional costs it is important the CED is in before the vessel arrives to allow document checks to be carried out before calling some consignments for examination.

The Port Health Authority will not be able to clear consignments or call them for examination if the paperwork is not in place, thus causing potential delays that can be avoided.
