Premier Fruits acquires CH Mears & Sons of Brighton

2 March 2017

Premier Fruits announces the acquisition of CH Mears & Sons of Brighton which will be trading as Premier Fruits Tastables from 6th March.  Tony Gardner, Commercial Director commented, “After successfully integrating Tastables in December 2016 to the Premier Fruits Family, this further acquisition demonstrates Premier’s commitment in becoming the No1 Independent Food Service provider throughout the South East of England.”

Premier Fruits is a diverse family of companies with an emphasis on supplying and understanding the needs of the fresh produce industry. Helping businesses grow by identifying change and acting on it with a committed and professional approach creates benefits across the entire supply chain, from grower to consumer.
The business was founded in 2002 by Jason Tanner and Roger Garber who started with two units at New Covent Garden Market.  By 2015 they occupied nine units with a team of 50 staff and added Premier Fruits Catering, Premier Fruits Prepared and Premier Fruits Direct to their portfolio.  Today it is one of the most successful and impressive independent produce companies in the UK.
