Lobbying for changes to MRLs for thiabendazole in mango and sweet potato

19 April 2017

FPC has joined forces with the European fresh produce industry on the adverse impact of forthcoming changes to the Maximum Residues Levels for thiabendazole in mango and sweet potato.

As part of joint lobbying, Freshfel, the European trade association, has contacted DG Health and Food Safety at the European Commission to alert them to the issues facing European importers and disruption to supplies when the changes to MRLs are implemented.

FPC members can see the arguments put forward here for a proposed solution to maintain the current MRLs for a temporary period of time until import tolerances can be established.
