Scheduled downtime affecting import clearances

27 April 2017

There will be a significant downtime this weekend due to work on the databases that support multiple applications across the Defra network. The maintenance window is 0700hrs on Saturday 29th to 2200hrs on Sunday 30 April.

ALVS is expected to be unavailable during this period so full manual fallback will be invoked and NCH will be authorised to clear imports of APHA- and HMI-regulated imports on production of a valid Quarantine Release Certificate and/or a Certificate of Conformity.

Access to PEACH may also be affected, so if HMI-regulated airfreight imports require urgent clearance, and PEACH is unavailable, then please can importers or their agents contact the PEACH Helpdesk.

Any queries concerning APHA imports should be directed to the APHA Helpdesk on (0300) 100 0313.

Defra apologises for the short notice of this downtime but has only just been made aware of its potential impact. As ever, importers and agents are advised to submit CHIEF entries and the associated PEACH applications either side of it.
