FPC HR Forum

2021

This HR Forum will deal specifically with employee mental health wellbeing.

Emma Batten is a Managing Associate at Freeths LLP. She regularly speaks at FPC HR events and advises a wide range of food sector clients. Over 11 million days are lost a year to work related stress alone. Emma will be giving an overview of the legal implications associated with mental health issues in the workplace and offering some practical guidance on how best to support your employees. Emma will also pick up on any relevant Covid-19 related employment issues.

FPC has also invited the Peterborough branch of the Samaritans to share part of their training that deals with 'active listening'. They will be going through the different aspects of the Listening Wheel, a tool that guides volunteers on how to support callers. This can be adapted by managers in order to explore any issues a direct report might be feeling.
